Barbera d’Asti DOCG “Passio”

Passio” is our base wine, and is the one we produce the most bottles of. In an optimal harvest year, we can produce approx. 8000 bottles.

Vineyard yield: We have a yield of approx. 75 hl / ha vineyard. This is well below the requirements set by the legislation for this DOCG wine.

Production: After the wine has been fermented and stabilized, it must be stored in a steel tank for at least 6 months before being bottled. The wine is then ready for consumption.

Characteristics: Color deep red. Aromatic with aroma and taste of cherries. Good body, fruity and good balance. Good acidity and soft tannins.

Serving: Lamb, pork, chicken, turkey, cod, halibut, ribs, pasta, pizza, duck, goose, canapés and tapas. Due to the fullness of the wine, it should be tried for small game. Great also for snacks and alone as a drinking wine.

Barbera d’Asti DOCG “Variazione”

Variazione” consists of more than 90 % of barbera grapes mixed with less than 10 % Freisa grapes. The Freisa grape has slightly stronger color, taste and tannins which  add a little extra character and distinctiveness to the wine. In an optimal harvest year, we can produce approx. 2500 bottles. .

Vineyard yield: We have a return of approx. 75 hl / ha vineyard. This is well below the requirements set by the legislation for this DOCG wine.

Production: After the wine has been fermented and stabilized, it must be stored in a steel tank for at least 6 months before being bottled. The wine is then ready for consumption, but will improve with a period of storage in the bottle.

Characteristics: Color deep red. Aromatic with aroma and taste of cherries. Good body, fruity and good balance. Good acidity and some tannins.

Serving: Lamb, pork, cod, halibut, ribs, duck, goose, game and more tasty food. Due to the wine’s stronger taste and tannin content, it should be tried for slightly more tasty foods, preferably with tasty sauces with cream.

Monferrato Nebbiolo DOC “Nobile”

Nobile” is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes. The Nebbiolo grape’s strong taste and tannins give the wine character and distinctive taste. It is a balanced and elegant but at the same time light Nebbiolo wine. In an optimal year we can produce approx. 1200 bottles. The wine is currently only available for sale at Cascina Collina.

Vineyard yield: We have a production of approx. 90 hl/ha vineyard. This is below the requirements set through legislation for this type of DOC wine.

Production: After the wine has been produced and stabilized, it is aged approx. 1 1/2 years in 500 l oak barrels before bottling. The wine can be aged for a year or two in the bottle before drinking.

Characteristics: Color brown-red. Aromatic with the scent and taste of flowers/spices and a little red pepper. Fullbodied and balanced. Good acidity and balanced tannins.

Serving: The wine goes well with pasta dishes with meat sauces or meat-filled ravioli. Also goes well when the pasta is topped with truffles. Goes well with meat with slightly rich sauces with butter and cream.

Nizza DOCG “Squarza”

Squarza” is our  100% barberawine which has been aged in 500 l oak barrels. Normally we produce approx. 2000 bottles each year.

Vineyard yield: We have a yield of 65 hl / ha vineyard. This is well below the requirements set by the legislation for this DOCG wine. The part of the vineyard on which we extract the grapes for this wine is classified as “NIZZA” land. This is a classification that has stricter requirements in relation to those of  a Barbera d’Asti DOCG wine and the highest classification for barbera wine.

Production: After the wine has been fermented and stabilized in a steel tank, it is left for a minimum of 12 months in a 500 l oak barrel and then a minimum of 6 months in the bottle before it is ready for consumption. Storage minimum 18 months before release to the market.

Characteristics: Clear scent with hints of fresh cherries, nuts and almonds. Pure and nice fruit on the palate combined with fresh acidity and balanced tannins. Powerful finish.

Serving: Small game, other game and tasty food, also good with strong cheeses.

Nizza Riserva DOCG “Le Tre Barrique”

Le Tre Barrique” is our top wine and is only produced in the best vintages. It is a 100 % barbera wine aged in 225 l oak barrels. In the vintages it is produced, we normally produce approx. 800 bottles.

Vineyard yield:  We have a yield of 65 hl / ha vineyard. This is well below the requirements set by the legislation for this DOCG wines. The part of the vineyard on which we extract the grapes for this wine is classified as “NIZZA” land. This is a classification that has stricter requirements in relation to a Barbera d’Asti DOCG wine and the highest classification for barbera wine.

Production: After the wine has been produced and stabilized in a steel tank, it is stored for a minimum of 24 months in 225 l oak barrels and then for a minimum of 6 months in a bottle before it is ready for consumption. Storage minimum 30 months before release to the market.

Characteristics: Clear aroma with hints of fresh cherries, nuts and almonds. Pure and nice fruit on the palate combined with fresh acidity and balanced tannins. Powerful finish.

Serving:  Small game, other game and tasty food, also good with strong cheeses.
